Physical Education

On July 8, 2008, the Board of Education unanimously adopted a resolution establishing physical education instruction as a priority. The State of California has also made physical education a priority due to the rising costs associated with obesity and related diseases due to lack of physical activity and established it as part of the Federal Program Monitoring of schools.

Marlton School adheres to the physical education requirements by offering 200 minutes each 10 days for Kindergarten through 6th grade and 400 minutes each 10 days for grades 7th through 8th. Attached below is the Elementary PE schedule (Kindergarten - 5th) and students in grades 6th - 8th take physical education classes as part of their regularly scheduled classes. Additionally, some students are offered adapted physical education (APE) by a certificated APE teacher based on the needs addressed in the student's IEP.
